Sunday

Positive Attitudes

This is a social and support gathering for HIV+ Gay/Bi Men. Potlucks are included where guys bring appetizers, dish or snack food. Candid discussions and social gathering with an open fomrat allowing for free interaction and the chance to meet other HIV+ men while having a good time.

CT SOFFA Group

The CT SOFFA group is a group for Significant Others, Family, Friends and Allies of Transgendered, Transsexual and Gender Variant people (SOFFAs) that is based in CT. The group provides a safe space for SOFFAs to give each other social support, share resources and develop community and friendships. These meetings are specifically for Significant Others, Family, Friends, and Allies of Transgendered, Transsexual and Gender Variant people (SOFFAs). Trans people who are SOFFAs are welcome.

A Course in Miracles

A spiritual journey based on the book by the same name.

Mondays at 7 p.m. Facilitated by Casey Roberts.

Monthly Volunteer Night

The third Monday of every month going forward, the Center will have a volunteer meeting. Volunteers can enlist to help with the many projects we have running including fundraising efforts (including our annual Dorothy Awards), mailings and other efforts the help the Center run more smoothly. Food will be provided at the meeting.

Rainbow Support Group

The Rainbow Support Group provides support and affirmation to people with developmental disabilities who are gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgendered. This is one of the first of its kind in the nation.

GLANCE (ages 18-28)

GLANCE (Gays and Lesbians Among the New Haven Community Enlightening) serves the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender Community of Connecticut by providing educational, social and charitable programs. We welcome LGBT people from all walks of life and provide regular programming and services to strengthen the community and to bring all of its members together.

The "GLANCE New Haven County" Group is part of this organization and serves the 18-28 year old age group in the New Haven County area. It is a community and social group, whose activities include guest speakers, discussion nights, parties, pizza nights, outside trips and more!

This organization holds regular fundraisers that are open to all ages!

Tuesday

Women & Families Center Open Hours

Women and Families Center Sexual Assault Crisis Service (WFC SACS) provides free and confidential services to survivors of sexual violence and their loved ones. Services included individual and group support, accompaniment and advocacy through medical, police and legal systems, and primary prevention education for the community.

Through the partnership with the New Haven Gay and Lesbian Community Center, WFC SACS has been able to offer drop in hours on Tuesdays from 12-3:45 p.m.

Centeryouth

NOTE: For the summer of 2008, Center Youth will be meeting the first and the third Tuesdays of each month and in September will resume meeting weekly. "Centeryouth" is a social support group intended for gay, lesbian, bi-sexual, transgender, intersex and their straight allies. We have between 20-30+ youth who attend weekly. Generally the format consists of both time to socialize as well as having speakers present to the youth or discussion of relevant topics. We also partake in several off-site activities during the year such as "Beach Day" and Pride events.

Rainbow Group of Alcoholics Anonymous (AA)

AA is a fellowship of men and women whose common purpose is to carry the message of recovery to the suffering alcoholic. It is a Big Book meeting.

Wednesday

Support Group for Deaf and Hard of Hearing

A support group is forming for the deaf and hard of hearing community at the Center. The first group of its kind to begin meeting at the Center will be held this summer, the second Wednesday of the month from 6 to 7 pm. The group which will be led by two deaf MSW facilitators, will meet June 11, July 9 and August 13 at the Center. There is no charge to attend and light refreshments will be served. SLAPHAPS - Senior Lesbians at Play Happily

This is a social group for lesbians who are age 55 or older.

Through the partnership with the New Haven Gay and Lesbian Community Center, WFC SACS has been able to offer drop in hours on Thursdays from 12:30-8 p.m. We have established a group for survivors of sexual violence who identify as LGBTQI and we will be working to establish a group for Parents and Partners: In Support of LGBTQI survivors of sexual violence.

Fun Fridays at the Center: Movie Night

We show all your favorites: new releases, classics, gay & lesbian flicks, different genres month. Great time, with really nice people! Refreshments provided. See calendar for movie listings.

Fun Fridays at the Center: Games Night

Come out and play popular board and card games, or learn how to play new games at the Center's popular games night. A $5 donation for admission is requested. Refreshments provided.

Ursa Men

Northeast Ursamen is a Bear organization whose roughly 200 members' varied backgrounds, interests, and occupations afford the opportunity for any Bear to expand his social circle within the gay community. Our members come from throughout New England and New York, with the majority of the members living in Connecticut and western Massachusetts.

Our mission statement: The Northeast Ursamen, Inc. is a non-political, gay fraternal organization that exists to provide bears and their admirers with opportunities to meet and enjoy time together in a variety of safe and fun social environments.

Fun Fridays at the Center: Poker Night

Know when to hold 'em or fold 'em? Have a fun time at the center's casual poker night. A $5 donation includes light refreshments. No actual money is gambled, so it's a relaxed atmosphere, but a small prize is awarded to the top player of the evening.
