Volunteer at the Center
There are many ways you can volunteer at NHGLCC.
Monthly Volunteer Meeting
The easiest way to get your feet wet is to join us for our monthly volunteer meetings, the third Monday of every month from 6:30-8 p.m. At these meetings we talk about what projects are coming up, where we're currently in need of assistance, and what committees are working on at the moment.
Communications
Communications is a committee for those individuals who are interested in public relations, writing, liaising with the press and the public, and developing a communication strategy for the Center.
Fundraising
Fundraising is responsible for devising and implementing a variety of exciting events to raise those vital funds for our Center. This includes our annual Dorothy Awards celebrations and our fall Tasting events.
Grant Writing
Agencies and organizations sponsor grant programs for many reasons. The Grants Committee investigates ways the Center can tap into these resources and it goes about securing funds through these offerings to help meet our financial needs.
Membership
Membership takes care of our valued members who provide financial and/or moral support. The committee's goals are to increase membership and also to create links within the business community for the benefits of our members.
Operations
The Operations/Office Staff consists of a dynamic group of people who assist in linking the center to our membership. The tasks are varied and include anything from answering phones, enter data into our library's card catalog system, greeting people, or just the day-to-day operations of the Center.
Newsletter
The Newsletter Committee takes full responsibility of producing and distributing our bi-monthly newsletter that is a vital link to our membership and our community. Production includes writing articles, gathering advertisements and mailing the newsletter.
Programming
This committee develops and organizes programs and events for the Center that meets the needs of our diverse community. This is the place where our social, educational and cultural activities begin.
Volunteer
This committee actively recruits and trains new volunteers who are truly a vital component in the lifeblood of our center. Other committees are set up as ad hoc to address special concerns as they arise.
